Light, bubbly, and refreshingly citrusy, the Limoncello Spritz is the perfect sip for warm, sunny days. With its bright lemon flavor and a touch of sparkle, this Italian-inspired cocktail is easy to make and even easier to enjoy. Whether you’re hosting a summer get-together or want something fun to sip on the patio, this drink brings a little sunshine to your glass.
Limoncello is a vibrant, lemon-flavored Italian liqueur traditionally made by steeping lemon peels in alcohol, then mixing them with simple syrup. It’s known for its bold, sweet-tart citrus flavor and bright yellow color. Typically served chilled as a digestif, limoncello has also become a popular ingredient in cocktails—like the Limoncello Spritz—thanks to its refreshing, zesty profile that instantly transports you to the sunny Amalfi Coast.
While the Hugo Spritz will always be my personal favorite, I wanted to make sure to include all the classic spritz variations on the blog so you can explore and find your favorite. Whether you lean toward floral, citrusy, or slightly bitter flavors, there’s a spritz for everyone—and the Limoncello Spritz brings a bright, zesty twist that’s perfect for summer sipping!

Ingredients: Limoncello Spritz
- Prosecco: Prosecco is an Italian sparkling wine similar to Spanish Cava or French Champagne. I recommend choosing a dry (brut) Prosecco so your drink doesn’t turn out too syrupy or sweet (choose one that hits the sweetness level you prefer). Good choices range from $ 12 to $ 18. If you opt for the cheaper option, they’re not always as tasty. Trust me.
- Limoncello:
- Club Soda: To add a little volume and help dilute the fizz, use any unflavored sparkling water. Always great to keep cans of sparkling water in your pantry for this reason. Just make sure to throw them in the refrigerator to help cool/chill the drink (even though you’ll add ice, it still helps!)
- Garnishes: Lemon slices. You can omit these if you don’t have them on hand. However, if you want to be fancy, add a slice with a few mint sprigs to your glass as it is the classic garnish for a Limoncello Spritz.

How To Make A Limoncello Spritz
Limoncello Spritz cocktails are beyond easy to make. No special equipment needed! I simply use my measuring cup to ensure the right ratio. 3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Limoncello, and 1 part club soda.
- First, fill your glass with ice and let it chill for 30 seconds (trust me—it makes a difference).
- Then pour in your measuring cup 3 ounces of Prosecco, 2 ounces of Limoncello and one ounce of club soda.
- Give it a good stir and then pour this mixture into your wine glass with the ice.
- Garnish with a lemon slice and a mint sprig.

What To Serve With Your Limoncello Spritz
A Limoncello Spritz pairs beautifully with light, fresh bites that complement its bright citrusy flavor. Here are some delicious serving ideas:
- Marinated olives or a mixed antipasto platter
- Caprese skewers with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil
- Crostini with whipped ricotta and lemon zest or honey
- Grilled shrimp or lemon-herb chicken skewers
- Crispy prosciutto-wrapped melon
- Light pasta salads with citrus vinaigrette or fresh herbs
Think Mediterranean-inspired snacks that are easy to enjoy outdoors with a chilled spritz in hand!
