- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed, cut into 9 rectangles
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 whole apples, cored, halved, and sliced (not peeled)
- Optional toppings: powdered sugar, a dollop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of dulce de leche
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or a silpat).
- Prepare the puff pastry: Make sure it is fully thawed first. Place the puff pastry (1 sheet) onto the baking pans.
- Prepare the apples: Thinly slice the apples (no need to peel). In a medium bowl, toss the slices with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon until evenly coated.
- Assemble the tart: Arrange the apple slices in a straight line on the pastry rectangles, slightly overlapping as you go.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the apples are tender.
- Remove from the pan immediately and place on a serving platter.
- Add the finishing touch: serve with warm dulce de leche (just until pourable), then drizzle over the tart before serving. You can also serve plain, with whipped cream, or a sprinkling of powdered sugar.
