This Easy Strawberry Sauce has just two ingredients—fresh or frozen strawberries and sugar! It’s perfect for topping cheesecake, ice cream, yogurt, and other desserts!

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 20 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pint strawberries – fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon sugar *optional

Instructions

  1. Add the strawberries and sugar, if using, to a saucepan and heat over high heat to bring to a boil.
  2. Mash using the back of a spoon or a masher, and break apart the strawberries to release their juices. Once it boils, turn off the heat.
  3. Taste and adjust, adding more sugar if needed.
  4. Eat and enjoy!
  5. Extra step: Use an immersion blender to puree the strawberries until they’re completely pureed. You do not have to blend them if you prefer a chunkier sauce.
  6. Strain: If you’re using raspberries, you might want to strain the seeds using a fine-mesh strainer to get a smooth, silky sauce. Be sure to press all the raspberry pulp through firmly, as that thickens the sauce.
