Scale
- 1 pint strawberries – fresh or frozen
- 1 tablespoon sugar *optional
Instructions
- Add the strawberries and sugar, if using, to a saucepan and heat over high heat to bring to a boil.
- Mash using the back of a spoon or a masher, and break apart the strawberries to release their juices. Once it boils, turn off the heat.
- Taste and adjust, adding more sugar if needed.
- Eat and enjoy!
- Extra step: Use an immersion blender to puree the strawberries until they’re completely pureed. You do not have to blend them if you prefer a chunkier sauce.
- Strain: If you’re using raspberries, you might want to strain the seeds using a fine-mesh strainer to get a smooth, silky sauce. Be sure to press all the raspberry pulp through firmly, as that thickens the sauce.
